Turtle Eggs "Mutual Talk" Before They Hatch.

(Wikimedia)

Emydura macquarii, Australian river turtle species lay their the collection eggs in river sand. The development of eggs under more slowly than those above. However, they hatched together.

A researcher from Universy of Western Sydney Australia, Ricky-John Spencer intrigued by that fact. He suspected that the eggs are "talking" before they hatch.

Curiosity then took him to design an experiment.  A number of turtle eggs is divided into two parts, one part was incubated with a higher temperature while others were incubated with a lower temperature. After a two-thirds of the development of eggs, both parts are merged back.

You know the result? Apparently, both parts are hatched in the same time. When united, the slower development of eggs pursuing that can hatch in the same time.

According to Spencer, the two parts of the egg might communicate chemically. "Eggs are actually breathing. They breathe in oxygen and release CO2, "he said as quoted by New Scientist, Wednesday (30/11/2011).

Spencer explained that the faster development of eggs would spend more of CO2 . The concentration of CO2 is the kind of "call" as well as a trigger to make another egg grow faster.

Spencer's research results published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B latest edition of November 2011. Spencer explained that hatched together is very important for the survival of sea turtles. This will ensure that vulnerable individuals are protected from predators. They have friends who protect.
